2026 Sacrament of Confirmation
In the Diocese of Saskatoon grade 6 is the common time for Baptized children to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. In July 2020 the Bishop moved the age of Confirmation from gr 2 to gr 6. At Holy Spirit Parish we prepare our students for the Sacrament of Confirmation starting in February with the celebration of Confirmation happening during the Easter Season. The children will meet weekly for 5 weeks to learn about this beautiful sacrament and will attend a retreat.
An email will be sent in February to registered families with information about workbooks and what the classes will look like. We require:
- a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate (a picture or scan is fine)
- $40 fee (to cover the cost of books, materials, and the retreat upon registration)

Confirmation Preparation Session Schedule
The sessions will be offered on Thursdays at the church. Each session is different so it is important that you and your child attend each week.
Session 1: Thursday, February 26th 7-8pm
Session 2: Thursday, March 5th 7-8pm
Session 3: Thursday, March 12th 7-8pm
Session 4: Thursday, March 19th 7-8pm
Session 5: Thursday, March 26th 7-8pm
Retreat: Saturday, March 21st 1pm-5pm
Confirmation Mass: Friday, May 1st 6pm

2026 Reconciliation and First Communion
Preparation for First Reconciliation will occur in the Fall of 2026. Preparation for First Communion will occur in the Spring of 2027.
Please note: Reconciliation Prep and receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a prerequisite to a child preparing for First Communion.
