Sacramental Preparation for Children

Reconciliation  and First Communion

The usual time for the celebration of these Sacraments is at the grade 2 level. Older children are also welcome to attend the program. The children journey in a program that helps them discover God’s forgiveness through joy, love and peace, and how in the Eucharist they are nourished by Jesus, the Bread of Life. Reconciliation prepares our hearts to receive Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist. The program is age appropriate and supported by family and parish life. Parents are an integral part of the preparation process and will help guide their children through the program. Preparation for First Reconciliation will occur in the Fall. Preparation for First Communion will occur in the Spring.

Confirmation

Registration for the Sacrament of Confirmation is pending.  As soon as we have information and registration In the Sacrament of Confirmation we’ll post it here!

In July of 2022 the decision was made in the Diocese of Saskatoon that Confirmation would be offered to youth 12 years of age (grade 6) and older. If your child received their First Communion in Saskatchewan in 2020 or earlier it is likely they received their Confirmation at that time as well. If you are unsure, contact the church where your child was baptized where  their sacramental  records are kept and updated.
