Citizens for Public Justice and Dignity for All Campaign

Chew on This! is an annual event organized by Citizens for Public Justice and the Dignity for All campaign. Each year, volunteers go out to their communities on Oct. 17, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, to hand out lunch bags containing a food item, a magnet, and a postcard directed to the federal government. Decision Making in Healthcare

* DECISION MAKING IN HEALTHCARE (FOUNDATIONS COURSE at Holy Spirit Parish. One, two-hour session.) Mary Deutscher, bioethicist for St. Paul's Hospital and the Catholic Health Association of Saskatchewan, will take a look at how each of us makes decisions, paying particular attention to decisions made in a healthcare setting.  As an example, we will explore the Catholic Church's teachings on feeding tubes and how these teachings can help us if we are faced with a seemingly impossible choice. This presentation will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, 114 Kingsmere Place, Monday, October 16 at 7:00 pm. Make a Food Bank donation to mark World Food Day Oct. 16 – This event was established by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945 to encourage reflection and awareness about food issues, food security, and those living with poverty and hunger in our world.
